Expecting a baby far from home can feel overwhelming — but you’re not alone.
This course is designed to guide, support, and empower you through your journey in Portugal.
I trained as a doula in the UK with Nurturing Birth and have had the privilege of witnessing babies being born in a wide range of contexts, reflecting diverse choices and circumstances. It was the stark contrast between the birth options available to women in the UK and those in Portugal that compelled me to found the Portuguese Birthrights Association. I now volunteer with the organisation, working to make human rights in pregnancy and birth a reality in Portugal. I truly believe that everyone deserves an empowered and positive birth experience—and that there is no single “right” way to have a baby. What matters is having access to clear information and understanding how your body works.
“I believe that everyone deserves an informed and empowered birth experience.”
I am a certified nurse midwife and co-founder of Love Home Birth, with a deep passion for care that prioritises women’s autonomy in their reproductive journey, supporting free and informed choices. I view childbirth as a profoundly transformative experience in a woman’s life—one that encompasses emotional, hormonal, familial, social, and spiritual dimensions.
For the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege of providing this type of care as an independent midwife, supporting women throughout pregnancy, birth—whether at home or in hospital—and the postpartum period.
“I support women through a respectful and autonomous birth journey.”
